Diogenes, Ancient Greek philosopher

By Jean-Léon Gérôme (1824–1904)
Diogenes of Sinope, aka Diogenes the Cynic. (404-323BC)
He believed human beings live artificially and hypocritically and they should live the simple life of a dog.

Diogenes lived inside a tub in the marketplace of Athens.

Ones, Alexander the Great, King of Macedonia, came to visit him and told him he will fulfill any wish for him.

Diogenes answered: Stand out of my sun.
